Compressor Mounting Bracket

Drawings

I have made some revisions to the mounting bracket design and made it simpler to construct, align, and mount and it will better distribute the weight of the compressor. Below is a picture of the 3D model created with Solidworks. It has been a while since I used ProEngineer but it turns out that the Solidworks user interface was very similar so after doing a training tutorial it came back to me quickly and will prove useful.

I still need to verify some specific dimensions for the final drawings. Construction should start tomorrow after confirming them. The welding instructor will be familiarising me with the MIG welding shop. I got materials today to start and set up an appointment with him.

Materials:
  • Two 283mm lengths of 51 x 51 x 2.5mm angle steel.
  • One 275mm length of 51 x 51 x 2.5mm angle steel.
  • One 275 x 50 x 2.5mm plate.
  • Two 120mm lengths of 25 x 25mm RHS 2.5mm thick.
